Meet The Team

A team of dedicated professionals was brought together with a vision of spreading the knowledge about Antoni Gaudi together with worldwide known institutions and organisations.

Carlos Canals Roura

Bachelor in Economics from the University of Barcelona, and Master’s Degree in Conservation of Cultural Heritage.

Expert in heritage protection, Founding Partner of AICOA (Central International Archive of Objects of

Ar t) and Founder Patron of WASF (World Ar t Service Foundation) with the Applus Certi ier as

Founder Patron.

Since 2011 he is President of the Gaudi World Congress, and member of the organizing committee of the Gaudi World Congress, the only world organization that promotes the life and work of Gaudí through congresses and studies.

He has published several books about Gaudí, promoter of the dissemination of Gaudí’s knowledge, consultant of the Gaudí Method and its worldwide diffusion.

Sofya Abramchuk

Since I was 15 years old, I’ve co-founded and run a school newspaper with 30+ authors, created a concept for a self-sufficient and autonomous house, gave a TEDX talk on regenerating urban spaces, co-created an ed-tech start up, and co-founded Impackt Farm, where our main goal is to revolutionize and disrupt agriculture. Right now, I am a president and a co-founder of Keywe Company, which aims to break through the traditional business models and create products that will make our customers’ lives better.

Alex Canals

He has studied Bachelor in Business Administration and Degree in Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, which gave him strong organisational, leadership and creative capabilities that he practices with his companies.

He is the COO of Gaudi World Congress and has co-founded several ventures that are revolutionising markets such as culture, education and humanitarian aid. He developed and now is co-founder and CEO o a Gaudi Thinking consultancy firm that

helps organisations and entrepreneurs to create innovation strategies through Gaudi’s values and methods of work.

He is collaborating with leading multinational companies to develop an innovation hub of Gaudi, as well as Gaudi AI Brain to revolutionise the world of education and design.

Lead Architect

Bea Fröis

Bea Fröis studied Architecture at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. She graduated with the Master’s Thesis, „Gaudí’s unfinished church in the Colonia Güell, – an attempt at a reconstruction according to the urban context”.

Having worked at the construction site of “La Sagrada Familia” in Barcelona for several months in 2000, she has researched in Gaudi’s form finding methodes.  She is an active member of the Assotiation and currently is in charge of all the architectural and design projects carried out.

Leading Engineer

Arnold Walz

He runs Designtoproduction, his own company, with headquarters in Stuttgart and Zurich. 3D Geometric Processing Specialist in architectural design. He is a pioneer in the development of CAD parametric models of construction planning applied to some of the most revolutionary buildings in recent years: the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, the Paul Klee Centre in Bern, the P & C Weltstadthaus in Cologne, the new Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington and the Lufthansa headquarters in Frankfurt. He worked for Foster & Partners Architects in London. He has worked with Bollinger Grohmann, Werner Sobek, Jörg Schlaich, Bodo Rasch and Frei Otto.

Lead Historian and Documentarist

Antonio Sama

He was head of the Restoration Department at the Fundación de Gremios and director of the Conservation and Restoration of Historical Textiles Section at the Fundación Real Fábrica de Tapices. As director of the inventory of tapestries at the Patrimonio Histórico Español he is also involved in studying collections of tapestries that are part of Catalonia’s cultural heritage and he forms part of the team at the Centre d’Art d’Època Moderna at the University of Lleida. He currently combines his professional work as a curator at the Fundación Real Fábrica de Tapices and lecturer at several schools and universities with research on Antoni Gaudí. As an expert on Gaudí, he has written several books since 1987, when he presented his thesis, “Gaudí y el Modernismo en Comillas”.
