Baidu Baike Digital Museum announced the cooperation plan with USA museums in New York

The Baidu Baike Digital Museum New York Press Conference on January 30, 2018, is the first Press Conference for Baidu Encyclopedia Digital Museum Projects in the United States. In the press conference, representatives from Baidu explained the blueprint, technical strength, promotion programs and cooperation channels for Baidu Baike Digital Museum. The Consulate General of Spain in New York also joined and supported the press conference with a great passion.

Baidu Baike is the world’s largest Chinese encyclopedia, with a daily click rate of over 0.4 billion. Baidu Baike Digital Museum is a large scale non-profit knowledge project of Baidu Baike, aggregating museum resources around the world and promoting international cultural interactions with advanced technology. 

Dr. Ping LI, Distinguished Scientist at Baidu Research and Head of Big Data Lab in Baidu USA said at the Press Conference, ‘AI technology can be used in cultural protection and communication which can better link history with reality. We hope to collaborate with museums in the United States and make world history vivid in front of every people’s eyes.’

The Right Honorable Ramon Baiget Viale de Montebello, Chairman of international committee of the Hispanic society of America and Board member of SOS monuments world, commented that ‘This is a cultural revolution of historical importance in two senses, one for Chinese people in general that could know more about world civilizations, the other for Chinese travelers to learn more before they travel to different places in the world and obtain knowledge.’ 

Carlos Canals Roura, the President of Gaudi World Congress and co-founder of Baidu Baike Gaudi Digital Museum said, ‘Gaudi Digital Museum is the first Gaudi Digital Museum in the world and also the first overseas digital museum project for Baidu, by integrating the global Gaudi resources like knowledge, collection, architecture and scholars, we are able to present Gaudi and his thinkings with the most advanced Baidu technologies.’  

SIG Group is the global strategic partner of the Baidu Baike Digital Museum who will be responsible for creating the museum network platform, collecting data and curating digital museum exhibitions of North and South America. Shelley Tsang, the Chairman of SIG Group, help to successfully reached an intentional agreement with Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, the largest museum of Asian art in United States, to be the first USA museum to join the Baidu Baike Digital Museum project. 

Jin Xiaping,the director of Baidu Baike digital museum presented that Baidu Baike will spread the world’s museum culture through different channels and attract people of different ages. In 2018, Baidu Baike Digital Museum hope to open the doors to China and cooperate with museums all over the world.
